Molecular Tumor Pathology

PI Ramin Massoumi

Our research

The overall goal of our research is to characterize the function of certain genes in development biology and immunology. In addition, we try to identify driver genes that are defined as being linked to human diseases such as cancer and fibrosis. Dissecting the signalling pathway with the focus on the post-translational modifications, will allow us to identify potential anti-cancer and anti-fibrosis therapies. This is analysed by using high throughput drug screening, animal models and preclinical 3D imaging. Using these state-of-the-art approaches and techniques, we hope to identify novel markers for improved diagnosis and validation of candidate drug target for therapies.
